Muddy River Divers was founded in March of 2022 with a vision to fill a void in the technical and recreational diving Industry. We are a registered training facility with Scuba Divers International (SDI) and Emergency Response Diving International (ERDI).
Our mission is to provide relevant , safe and effective training no matter the topic. We strive to be at the forefront of dive technology, employing the latest techniques and equipment to deliver exceptional training. With a highly trained cadre of experienced recreational, technical and public safety dive professionals we love to spread our passion! With unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Muddy River Divers is devoted to creating safe and proficient divers no matter if your goal is to dive for fun, or to meet the demands of the technical dive industry.

Tyler Prater
Owner / Lead Diver
Tyler is a career firefighter assigned to a very busy rescue squad. Tyler started Muddy River Divers in March of 2022 to spread his passion for the water via scuba instruction and water rescue training. Tyler holds multiple certifications in Emergency Response Diving, Technical Rescue and Recreational Scuba.
Megan Prater
Wife of Tyler / Founder
Megan is the glue that holds the operation together, handling all of the logistics and organizing the equipment. She is an advanced diver and loves to scuba dive in warm southern waters!
Brendan Ackerman
Assistant Instructor
Brendan holds multiple certifications in scuba diving to include Technical Diving, Helitrox, Public Safety Diving and Swiftwater Rescue. Brendan is our technical diving expert and has a passion for building safe, competent and effective divers.
Michael Rhineberger
Public Safety Diver & Divemaster Candidate
Michael serves as the training officer for a local Fire Department where he serves as Public Safety Diver and Swiftwater Technician.
